Just curious...

What do you use for your PERL development? Any IDEs?

Or do you just use plain text editors such as vi, emacs, textpad, ultra edit, notepad (yikes!!!)???

I am wowed by people who know how to use Emacs well. I never learned. I use vi. There's really no need for a Perl IDE.

LOL Actually no. Emacs is very cool if you know how to use it. I like how you can split the screen and work on 2 files at the same time. I just never was able to get the hang of the key codes for all the cool stuff. Plus I was so used to vi that I kept getting frustrated because vi codes do unpleasant things usually in Emacs.

There is a vi-mode for emacs - but I'm not sure it's that good - knowing the emacs bindings (I have custom bindings) makes it really easy to use (IMO)

I'm stuck on Windows currently, and have found Notepad++ very useful. Back in the day, I loved just plain vi, and have been known to pull out vim once in a while to loosen up the fingers....

In Windows editplus is doing good. Editplus itself you can run perl programs instead of going command prompt to run perl code.
