Interesting Compilation Error

We are running TeamSite 6.7.2. Today we went to generate a page from one of our dcrs. We went in to the dcr, added a couple lines of text and hit preview and received a "Error has occurred during PT compiling. Please see more details in the log files." I know for a fact no DCR, DCT or TPL files have been modified other than this change.

I go to the iwutild_cmdout.log file and notice the following error.

Could not load dcr: Y:\default\main\internet\selecthealthofsc\WORKAREA\content\templatedata\internet\common\data\community\spotlight\2009\july.dcr

I also check the error.log file in the iwui directory and see the following entry.

The problem is, I have the file open and know it exists. If I reboot the system everything works again. Has anyone seen this or know of a fix for this?

OK, I suspect it is an environment issue rather than TPL/DCR issue.

To check that try using iwpt_compile and build it by hand

Also log on the IWOV support site and search by that error, I think you will be talking to support about it.

Have there been any upgrades/changes recently ? Do other TPLs generate ?

I did do a iwpt_compile manually and it came back clean after the reboot. I did not try generating using other TPLs.

I agree with you regarding that its an enviornment issue. We only have one enviornment at this time, so we are trying to figure out why it would happen. There have not been any upgrades or changes to the system recently.

I have also seen some really odd stuff in the Windows log which makes me feel uneasy. I am going to open a support ticket.

Did you run make_toolkit.ipl or install_webapps.ipl (or their sh or bat equivalent) recently? These will delete or change permissions on the iw-home/httpd/webapps/content_center directory without warning you. Then you'll need to change them back and run iwreset -a to make it work again.

We did not run make_toolkit.ipl or install_webapps.ipl.

We did also have issues with our Y Drive a while back that said files didn't exist. It went away after a while, which was odd.

That is not good. Certainly get support on this. If the IW filesystem is throwing errors, that needs to be escalated.
