IE 6 specific stylesheet

krmilligan

I would like to include a stylesheet just for IE6, possibly IE7. I would normally do this through conditional comments in the code to include the stylesheet for the different versions of IE. In site publisher, when I am creating a new skin, I see a browser types section, for including a stylesheet for additional browser types. how do you configure this for IE6, as I am not finding it in the manual.

secondly, since configuring this for IE6 for each skin is pretty much a pain, how can this be accomplished for a specific page type?

I've been looking into this too. Conditional comments are my first weapon for beating ie6 into submission. We're just now moving from FormsPublisher to LiveSite so this has been bouncing around in my head also.

Without access to the head of the document the only thing I have come up with is conditional js - I've yet to try it, but will in the next few days.

Here's an article about it:

Anyone else have a solution here? Conditional stylesheets inserted with js makes me cringe.

Hello there Smiley Wink

There are several solutions that i found (i will have to choose what to use sooner or later).

1)
Change the layout, this is the xsl that is used to render all of the sitepublisher pages, the default are to be found around:
/Interwoven/iw-home/httpd/webapps/iw-preview/WEB-INF/classes/com/interwoven/xsl/runtime/

(Note that there are likely 2 copy of the above, one for preview and the other for runtime, you can nail the conditional css code inside there in the head and it will be included in all of the pages that use that layout).
refer to manual to see how to change this in the correct way (if you change it in the webapps you will loose changes with every update

2) pre site controller that use injection (there are some examples in the JAR).

3) JavaScript appends.

Emanuel.
