DCT calling another DCT

Has anyone had sucess with a DCT calling another DCT - right now I have a DCT which does a cgi-callout and in the cgi is a redirect to another DCT - problem is:
1) when I close the second DCT I get an error 'a runtime error has occurred do you wish to debug Error: cannot assign to '0 3_x'
2) The second DCT has a browse button and I click it I get a "Method not found" error

I have a case open with support on this - but I thought maybe
someone new of a workaround

Whatis the URL you used for redirection? Is it a webdesk URL? Do you need to send the call out information back to the original DCT?

1) It is not a URL redirection - in the cgi it's using a variable
like this: my $templateType="/Test/TheForm";

2) I do indeed need to send info back to that first DCT since
what I'm doing is setting the mata-data for that file

This one is closed - I moved my data to the same DCT - so a DCT wasn't calling another DCT
