Browse problem

I've come across a strange problem that I'm hoping someone has an idea on how to solve. We run TS 5.0.2 on Win2k. When a user is generating a file from a DCR, the Browse window comes up blank when it reaches a directory that contains 2 certain files. Let me detail the steps they take to make sure this is clear:
1. Assume they are viewing a DCR (in the WebDesk Pro interface) & they click the "Generate" button. This brings up a dialog box titled "Teamsite > Templating > Generate Web Page".
2. From the Generate Web Page box, they click "Browse" to navigate to where they want to save the generated file.
3. While clicking down into the directory structure, at some point the directory listing comes back with nothing, even if there are files/directories in the folder.
I've discovered that the existence of 2 specific files in a folder cause this behavior. If I move those 2 files around, it kills whatever directory they are in. For example, if I stick them in /htdocs/test/myfolder, the browser window will only drill down to /htdocs/test (it won't show myfolder as a choice). If I stick them in /htdocs/test, then the user can only drill into /htdocs.
I don't see anything special about these 2 files. They are templated files, if it matters. I can download the generated files to my PC, then import them back into Teamsite over the top of the existing files and this (oddly enough) fixes the problem.
Seems like a very odd problem, so I'm wondering if anyone has any suggestions?

What are the 2 files? Does it matter what's in them, or is it the names that's causing the issue?
