Update EAs in TeamSite based on MediaBin change

TeamSite 6.7.1 SP1 on Solaris 9

Once digital assets are pulled into TeamSite via the ECM connector, how do EA changes for the assets in MediaBin get reflected in all references in TeamSite?

Is it a cron job in TeamSite based on the asset GUID back to MediaBin, or is it an event within MediaBin which triggers the refresh (and if so, how?).

Input is greatly appreciated.
