Viewing permissions via database

Hi,

Does anyone know of a way to view the permissions to assets and/or folders through a database query or queries? From what I can tell, this is a very laborious manual process to do through any of the clients.

You can run a report with the "Permissions Manager" tool in the SDK.
Go to the downloads, download the SDK for the version of MediaBin you have, find the Permissions Manager code and run the .exe file. It will prompt you for login information. Then select the folder whose permissions you want to view and it will list its permissions, along with the permissions for all of its subfolders, into a text file.

The simple answer is that in MediaBin permissions are store in the form of a Windows (actually a bit of a hybrid but this is close) access control list (ACL), which make it nearly impossible to query permissions via a SQL query.
