iwestattr / converting backward slash

Hi

we are trying to add extended attributes using xml in the following manner : -

#------------------------
my $iwextattrcmd = "iwextattr -s -x $outPage < $sTempXMLFile";

my $returnedValue = `$iwextattrcmd`;
#------------------------

Here $output comtains the vpath and $sTempXMLFile contains the path of the xml file.

This is not working since it is not accepting backslashes in $output.

Is there a way to convert backslashes to fwd slashes using regex or any other method to get the code running through a PERL file; it is running well on commandline without converting the back slashes.

It would help to see the contents of those two files - however, the simple answer in Perl is:

my $val_with_slashes =~ tr|\\|/|;

- that will replace all back-slashes to forward-slashes in $val_with_slashes.
