Dynamic component positioning.
sazzct
Hi,
We have an page, where one of the components pulls data from a DCR that has a replicant.
We want the footer of the page to be immediately after the markup in the rendered replicant component. When we create the page, it is fine because we resize the items to fit etc....
But... when someone goes and edits the DCR and adds more replicants, the page no longer looks ok, the footer is overlapping the data in the component with the replicants. It is not 'moving' down.
There must be a way to do this, however I am not able to at this point.
We are using DEV and HTML strict layout in our pages. I am sure we could probably do it with tables, but that is not an option at this point.
Has anyone else solved this dilema?

I don't have any specific advice for this problem, but some general suggestions. Are you using (or can you use) CSS to position the footer? If so, you could position it relative to the bottom of the screen or bottom of the page.
If you're using Firebug, another good approach is, when you look at your rendered page (or the generated HTML output), what do you have to change about it to have the desired effect? That usually gives me good hints about what to change in my page or css.
