EDITION-based Data Deployments

I'm currently doing filelist based deployments (content-to-fileserver and metadata-to-DB concurrently), but on occassion I have a need to perform deployments of the entire branch (metadata included).

Has anyone ever discovered a method to configure a deployment that would actually deploy the associated metadata as well? For my scenario, I would like to deploy all content in an EDITION to my fileserver and the associated metadata to my DB.

Unless I'm missing something here...

To deploy the entire Branch content you can use TS Comparison with 'EDITION/INITIAL' as previousArea, OD Manual actually
documents this very Scenario. DD then may deploy your MD just like you do with List Deployment.
