Issues with multichannel PSD files?

MediaBin seems to be incompatible with multi-channel Photoshop files. The test file in questions has 6 channels:

--Cyan
--Magenta
--Yellow
--Black
--PANTONE 294 CV
--PANTONE 877 CV

Once it's uploaded, it's preview displays wrong. I had assumed it was similar to the bug with DCS files (multi-channel EPS files), which also do not display right. We uploaded with the web client and with the Mac Fat Client.

However, when downloading the file (using None or Get Original tasks, and ZIP or ZIP-Mac compression), it is modified! The extra spot channels are changed to alpha channels (which is different), and you get:

--Cyan
--Magenta
--Yellow
--Black
--Alpha 1
--Alpha 2

Which means the file is no longer valid, as alpha channels are used for masking transparency, not displaying color.

I have no idea if the change is made by MediaBin during upload (and that explains the preview issue) or during download.

We're a little worried since we have a fair number of multichannel PSD files like this.
