we want to display a help text right below our field as in suppose fileld name is

NAME:
please fill the name

how to write "please fill the name" below the NAME: field,it should display just as simple help instruction

i think description of the item should do achieve what you need? but to see the help instruction, the user has to click on the ? by the item label.

yes ,you are right ,we need the description but the need is that it should appear as it is below the field ,we need not press the Q mark to get it,is it possible to do this thing?.

Not in an elegant manner - you could create another field with readonly text that provides the help information you are looking for - but it isn't going to look that good (IMO). The description text works with hovering the mouse over the '?' as well as clicking on it.

Another option is to embed the help text in the label of the item - something like (it's been a while):

<label><![CDATA[Name&lt;br /&gt;Please fill the name]]></label>

Better way to do this (For Text/Textarea fields)is to provide a Default text for each filed "Please Provide Name In This Field" .

If you're going to do that - you also need to make sure to not accept that default text as being valid - you might be able to use some non-FormAPI javascript code to run when the field gets and/or loses focus.
