How does teamsite know where to find .ipl files?

The last developer we had kept his perl scripts in a couple locations:

here:
\\apwcms\e$\iw-home\local\bin\pge_custom

and here:
\\apwcms\e$\iw-home\local\config\wft\solutions\pge_custom

Since he left before he could clean up or explain why files were in certain places, I'm left to try and guess what it was he was doing.

How do I reference these folders from .js files?

I have a .js that is trying to call an .ipl file, but I can't seem to get it to point to the right location.

Is there a configuration file somewhere that explains how TS maps to these bin folders?

Sorry if I'm not making sense, I'm still trying to make sense out of a lot of this.

I have no problem with coding, just with figuring out how TS operates.

For most IPL files, there is no standard location. You run iwperl /some/dir/blah.ipl

Callservers are a different story.

If you are running one, then you are excuting /iw-bin/somedir/blah.ipl

That must be in iw-home/httpd/iw-bin/somedir/

Yes, I am doing the callServer, and here's the line from the .js file:

[html]IWDatacapture.callServer("http://apwcms/iw-bin/pge_custom/price_summaries.ipl");[/html]

The .ipl is located here:
"iw-home\httpd\iw-bin\pge_custom"

My goal is to get my .ipl to do a mkpath but I couldn't get it work right away so I tried a simple 'log method' to see if it was even being called, but that's not working either.

It's frustrating not knowing if it's a problem with my code or a problem with me not pointing to the correct location.

Is there a simple way to check and see if an .ipl is being called (like an alert() in javascript?)

A couple points. 1st make certain there are no syntax errors. Trust me it happens. iwperl -c /iw-home/httpd/iw-bin/pge_custom/file.ipl

Second verify your shebang line is correct (#!/iw-home/iw-perl/bin/iwperl)

Most of the time that does not matter, but for a CGI it is critical.

If those are not the issue, start logging. Open a log file in iwhome/tmp (make certain everyone has read/write access) and start logging.

I can't believe I didn't think about running it locally first before trying to call it from IW.

I found what was going on and now it's running perfectly.
