Using TS Threw Command Line

We are currently running Interwoven TeamSite 6.5.0 Service Pack 2. I am a developer and find the web GUI to be a little slow and cumbersome. Couldn't I just setup dreamweaver to connect to the server then use the command line or web gui to deploy the changes I've made?

Does anybody else work like this? Is there any reason you can think not to work like this?
