Issue in description tag in templates

prasi

Hi All,

I am using Teamsite 6.7.1 version.
I am facing problem when the description for the item is very long.It works fine in IE.In mozilla the description goes out of the background box(yellow box).
Is there any way we can mangae the width of the description box.
Plz suggest asap

Thanks in advance

The problem here is more generic. Even for simple HTML tooltip, for a long paragraph, it failys to show completely on FireFox while it shows perfectly for IE.

Use a longer label for the item and if you have spaces, replace them with non-blocking spaces.

The width of the description tooltip is based on the right-margin of the label (dumb IMO, but that's what they did)

Thanks a lot Ghoti..

I tried giving spaces...but it truncates the spaces in one space..
What do u mean by non blocking spaces?

Jamik

I believe ghoti means you should use   (non-breaking spaces) in your labels to make them longer. that way teamsite won't strip them away.

Cool - I'm not a stickler for the means of achieving the goal, just the strategy. Thanks for the information (I tend to avoid item descriptions except where absolutely necessary as I think the described behavior is pretty bogus)
