Perl Module on TeamSite Image::ExifTool:

I'm trying to extract all the tags from the image embedded metadata and display on the web.

Have anybody ever used the Image::ExifTool: or similar module? The reference to Image::ExifTool: in tpl files is giving me an error.

Are you sure you have the pm? I don't believe Image::ExifTool is included in the TeamSite version of Perl.

I know the module is installed, I'm not sure how to test on TeamSite server. Just want to eliminate any other problem

Now I can run the perl but not from TeamSite from tpl file Where this module has to be installed on the TeamSite server?

This is the errom which I was getting:

Try putting your Perl module under iw-perl directory (i.e. iw-home/iw-perl/site/lib.)

That does not always work cpan is a better approach. Fisrt, you do not know if this has dependancies and second some PMs need to be compiled, and they may not be compiled for the correct OS if you copy

run /usr/iw-home/iw-perl/bin/cpan

accept defaults

get Image::ExifTool

Agreed with Andy -- but seems like "Margo" is completely new -- this is just a quick / dirty way to test it.

I guess the module was copied to iw-home/iw-perl/site/lib directory and probably need to be compiled.

I will try tomorrow the second solution.
Do I have to get the module again?

Yes We never have installed a new module on TeamSite

I forward the instruction to my Admin Group -
They follow these instructions:
run /usr/iw-home/iw-perl/bin/cpan

accept defaults

get Image::ExifTool

but I still can't process the tpl:

 use Image::ExifTool; 

How to test the tpl files which are not a presentation template?

OK, take a step back and verify that this PM works the ways you expect

Check the perldoc:

/usr/iw-home/iw-perl/bin/perldoc Image::ExifTool

Create an IPL something like this:

#!/usr.iw-home/iw-perl/biniwperl
use Image::ExifTool;
# Create a new Image::ExifTool object
$exifTool = new Image::ExifTool;
print "Image tool installed correctly \n" if ($exifTool)
