Update the Action-List Label entry "Generate" to "Generate and Deploy"

Hi All,
when the user click on the Generate Functionality we want the user to be able to Generate the html file by applying the content extracted from the DCR into the TPL and Generate an output file into a specific location and simultaneously deploy the generated file to the staging area using the OD Deployment Script.We were able to achieve this task.

Business would like to rename the Action-List menu item in the templating.cfg file from "Generate" to "Generate and Deploy".when I updated the entry accordingly in the actionlist within templating.cfg for the Generate the list completely erases out from the DCR console.

Can you please let us know if there is a possibility to rename the button, if not is there anyway for me to introduce a new button in the action-list for the specific content type

Hello Chiksur,

Whatever you're trying to achieve, it's not accomplishable by editing templatng.cfg (The actionlist attribute in templating.cfg is to show the list of options in a DCT/DCR only).

I don't think you can rename the button under Actions but, for sure you can add one. There are lot of forums on how to add a custom menu item and also you can get what you're looking for in TS customization guide.

Thanks for the input.
There are customization possible (Like adding a Button etc in the Content Center GUI).
when we select the new form entry meny item a DCR instance of the DCT Loads up.We would like to create a button within that DCT.The only way for me to control those button are either in the actionlist only (generate,preview,save,saveas).I wanted to add an other button called "publish" and I am not able to do so.I looked through the UI Customization guide and it does not talk about adding buttons on the DCT.

Can you please provide me a sample code snippet or point me to the files where I need to do the update for me to create a button.

I don't believe there is an officially supported way to change the label for the Generate button on the Edit DCR GUI - but you can hide that link and add your own custom button in your DCT itself to do what you want with whatever label you want.

Sorry.... My bad. I thought that chiksur is trying to add button within the DCT itself and not at the "Generate", "Save As" actions level.
