Unable to edit. Getting errors (urgent)

Hi All,

I have just started working on Teamsite. However i am not able to edit my dct files as there seems to be some problem with creating the local temp area for the files. I have attached the screen shots for the errors.

FYI, I have alreay installed java and working on windows vista. Moreover I have checked the permissions on C: and able to create any folders/files.

Hi

Have you make an entry of your catrgory "xml".
Have you defined your datatype "test".

These two must be defined in templating.cfg at iw-home\local\config.

I have already made the entry into templating.cfg but still it doesn't work. I am not sure whether this can be an issue with templating.cfg becuse entry into this file is required for mapping DCTs etc. But I am not even able to edit any dct because it is not creating the local temp files.

are u able to make a new form entry ?
check under the view tab, for my local files.It should show a screen having a list of files that are being opened for edit.

When I try New Form Entry from File menu option.. I get the following error..

A problem was encountered trying to parse the datacapture.cfg file for type //PUNITPSEZ120849D/default/main/Chandigarh/CHD_DUMMY/WORKAREA/Narinder/templatedata/xml/test/datacapture.cfg. Please contact your system administrator.

Root cause:
Couldn't parse DCT bytes into DOM [datacapture.dct_parse.error.msg ] Smiley Tongue

remature end of file.

2. And while checking for my local files.. it shows just a blank screen with no list of files.

your datacapture.cfg is not well formed,check it carefully ? either something is missing in your datacapture.cfg or some element is not ended properly.

The problem with datacapture.cfg will come into picture if I am able to edit the file. I have created a new file "datacapture.cfg" and when I click on the Edit link it is showing me the error. My datacapture.cfg is currently totally blank as I have not been able to write anything in the file.

What's your Environment ? Can you post code of your templating.cfg.

Please also check iwutild_cmdout.log at C:\iw-home\local\logs.if nothing is coming in the log relevant to your error then may be we are not diagnosing the actual issue.But i am sure something small has stuck somewhere.

I really appreciate the pains taken by you to assist me. Even I think that there is something small which we are missing. I have just started a new thread related to the same problem. Please have a look at the thread and see if you have some more suggestions related to problem. I will surely let the forum know about the resolution once I am able to...
