Impersonation Error on calling an external task in workflow

Hi,

I have a workflow which calls an external task for deployment. The external task in turn calls an ipl file. When I execute the workflow, the workflow runs smoothly but as soon as the external task is reached,the workflow gets stuck.
The error as logged in the iwutild.log is " Impersonation error " for a user with some argcount and errorcode 1317.
I have tried the following changes in the iw.cfg:
disable_ext_task_impersonation=true // (the default value is false) ; but the error still persists.
The Teamsite version is 6.7.1 SP1

If any one has faced the similar error, any pointers on it would be highly appreciated.

In you ipl check that have you set callBack() properly,the next transition task name is same as the task name.

Does this happen to every user ? Only 1 specific external task or all external tasks ? Does it happen all the time ?

In my case, there are times when the network is overloaded and the domain server does not repond in time and my account gets locked out. Thus if a task is to run as IWUSER which would be domain/andy then the task hangs (until it times out) and it can be restarted. Again in my case, the account becomes unlocked in about 20 minutes so I can restart the task.

So 2 things for you to do, first add a timeout to the externaltask (if there is not one already) and route that to a group task that can retry it. Second, figure out what user is being run for that external task and see if that user has the permissions needed on the server.

Hi All,

Thank you for your replies. My workflow is now running. I made the following two changes:
1. Set disable_ext_task_impersonation=true in iw.cfg.
2. While calling the perl file I changed the call from $IW_HOME/iw-perl/bin/iwperl to $IW_HOME/iw-perl/bin/iwperl.exe

After making these two changes I reset the server and the deployment was successful.
