Action scripts limitations

AMAJoey

We are looking to add some flash components to our site, I have heard that there may be some technical limitations in regard to implementing action scripts with Interwoven. Could anyone clarify/ provide background?

TeamSite 6.7.1 on Linux
OpenDeploy 6.2.0

Thank you in advance,
Joey Munao

Your question makes no sense. There is nothing systemic that prevents or inhibits flash on TS servers. I do this quite often.

So describe what you want to do and how you plan to accomplish this and someone may be able to help you.

My apologies if my question does not make sense. I am getting information from a third party.

If you are not having trouble I will try to track down the source of this rumor and get more information.

For now your input has been most helpful.

thank you,

I think the issue has to do with using flash components within VFE fields and how they [don't] preview within TeamSite's in-context Preview functionality.

That and/or how the WYSIWYG textareas might strip away some attribute settings in the flash tags - which I believe is dependent on the VFE / TinyMCE configuration options.

If you manage to get past (or avoid) those two obstacles - then there is nothing that prevents you from having flash code embedded within your pages that are managed within TeamSite functioning properly once they have been deployed to your web / app servers.

Yea, that is why I was looking for more specifics.

I know a couple gotchas with LiveSite and Flash exist, maybe an issue or two with MediaBin.

I forgot about VFE because IMHO using that for flash would be stupid.
