I want to stop IIS on the target server before deploying the files. How do I configure OpenDeploy to call a Net Stop W3SVC before deploying files and a Net Start W3SVC after. Is this something that can be done in the OD configs or do I need to use a workflow? Can I set it so the Net Start will still be called if there is a rollback?
yes, and Bo gave you enough information to do so. Now, the actual use case of this and how it will really work in production is something I hope you have really thought out. How long do your deployments usually take ? is it fairly consistent ? What will your customer/boss think if the sight is down for 20 minutes because someone changed a lot of stuff ?
