Teamsite GUI (grouping custom commands)

Hi,

I have a whole bunch of custom commands. I would like to group them by different areas and have a visible delimiter separating the different areas.

Currently all the custom commands are grouped together in one big group. I am not able to add delimiters between custom commands.

For example I have 7 custom commands under the File menu. This is how they appear currently:

File

New Workarea
New Branch
Rename

Delete

A1 - Custom Cmd1
A1- Custom Cmd2
A1- Custom Cmd3
A2 - Custom Cmd4

Logout

I would like the custom commands to be grouped together in the following fashion with a delimiter between the 2 areas.

A1- Custom Cmd2
A1- Custom Cmd3

Can someone suggest how to do this ? Do I have to modify/add anything in the iw.cfg file for the delimiters?

IN your iw.cfg you could use something like this as the starting command of each group.

custom_menu_item_showenv="File", "Show CGI Env.<OPTION VALUE='none'>=====================", "show_env.cgi", "ad
min,master", "scrollbars=yes,resizable=yes,width=640,height=570"

and the next commands for the same group could be

custom_menu_item_metadata="File", "Set Metadata", "iwmetadata.cgi", "all", "scrollbars=yes,resizable=yes,width=
640,height=545"

Thank you for your response. Your suggestion works but I see an extra menu item "Show CGI Env." along with "==============" in the File drop down. And when I choose "See Show CGI Env." , the CGI environment variables window pop up - which I don't want.

You should add the ..."<OPTION VALUE='none'>=====================" to the menu text for whatever task ends the preceeding group. Akshat's example was not intended to be literal, ie, the "Show CGI Env." was only for example.

Nice idea, BTW, Akshat. Clever.

This is what I had added. As mentioned in my previous note, when I do that , an empty row is created in the "File" menu. When you choose the empty row, the CGI variable window pops up. (Show_env.cgi is called).

The entry should look something like this (although as mentioned, this is not officially supported):


custom_menu_item_****="File", "Real Menu Name< OPTION VALUE='none'>=====================", "real_menu.cgi", "roles", "window-ops", "", "500"

Note that you list the "real" custom menu item before the separator - thus the separator will show up after the menu item in question.

I forget what the second-to-last parameter ("") is supposed to be, but the last parameter ("500") allows the custom menu item to show up in WebDesk.

Yeah, I also don't think if it was documented as during the iw-cfg configuration, I tried various methods on my test server and this one worked !!
