Component creation??

Hi,

Requirement:
1. I have a DCT (3 items: prodId, prodCategory & prodName) in TS, which gets content authored and got saved as a DCR in filesystem.
2. I have a page template layout, for which components need to be created.
3. I have created 3 different XSL based templates for each item to render along with surrounding html snippet code.

Known facts:
1. The output Xhtml can be used as a html component on LS

Queries:
1. I want each item content to be used directly to an XSL component written in LS.
2. Secondly, that should specify the DCR name as well. For example: prodDCR.prodID.value
3. As soon as DCR value got updated; the component should be refreshed with new value.

Is that can be acheived??

When you say XSL component in LiveSite I assume a component being created in SitePublisher

Reply to your questions:

This is possible. To achieve this parse your DCR xml file and get the data from each DCR field as follows:

2. Secondly, that should specify the DCR name as well. For example: prodDCR.prodID.value

In the above code you can specify the DCR name if you are using multiple DCRs in the component

3. As soon as DCR value got updated; the component should be refreshed with new value.

Yes, the component value will be updated once you edit the DCR field entries
