Supported XSLT version?

JonSchneider

What version of XSLT does TeamSite 6.7.2.0 / LiveSite 3.1 support? (Specifically, is XSLT 2.0 supported?)

Also, for future reference, is there a place that I could have looked to find this information (rather than asking on these forums)?

Thanks,

-Jon

AFAIK IWOV uses Xalan to implement XSLT/XPath. Try the following from the TS Server:
java org.apache.xalan.xslt.EnvironmentCheck

In my case it shows (among other things) version.xalan2_2=Xalan Java 2.4.1. To the best of my
knowledge this Xalan-Java processor implements XSLT V 1.0. I may be mistaken though, you can
double-check in apache.org

ISCBorisB, thanks for your response!

I found a xalan.jar in my iw-home/lib folder. I was able to the get the version information as you suggested by navigating to that directory and then running:

java -classpath ./xalan.jar org.apache.xalan.xslt.EnvironmentCheck

Among the version information output was:

version.xalan2x=Xalan Java 2.7.0

The Xalan Java page at http://xml.apache.org/xalan-j/ lists support for XSLT 1.0, but not 2.0, so I guess that answers my question; only XSLT 1.0 is supported.

I still would be interested to know where this information might be found in the documentation; given the signficant role that XSLT plays in TeamSite/LiveSite component development, information on the supported XSLT version(s) would seem like something that might be helpful to include in the LiveSite product documentation.

Ho Jon,

I fully agree. This most crucial part of the livesite docs is fully missing. It's quite difference isn't it, xslt 1 or 2.

What I did to find out was create a xslt that outputted all version information. I think this was the system-property function.

Oh, by the way, my personal opinion is that Livesite itself it is undocumented.

just the LIveSite? what a surprise! Smiley Very Happy

While I agree that there is room for improvement around the SitePublisher/LiveSite docs, it seems extremly unlikely that XSLT 2 would have been supported anyway. Or do you know of any wide spread processor supporting it yet?
