Concurrent Deployment Issue

Hi,

We are using filelist based transactional deployments. PathRegistryChecking is yes in ODRCVR.xml, even then concurrent deployments are failing. When they are deployed individually they are runnig fine.

Any pointers?

What error you are getting in the logs?

Details : Deployment deployName is already running. Request to start it now cannot be done. Rejecting request.

If any instance of deployName is already running then you cant start the other instance.

Thats fine, but I guess if they are queued somehow then it can be done.

you can get rid of this error by queuing the deployments. you just need to do is putpendSessions attribute inside nitiatorProperties element in odbase.xml.

Or, usually better, use the -inst flag for the deployments specifying a unique name for each deployment.
pendSessions only makes sense if you are doing complete dir-diff deployments - it does not make sense for filelist deployments nor, unless you are careful about handling parameters, TeamSite-diff deployments.

Hi Auli,
for the concurrent deployment when you running the OD cmd then pass different instance ID in the arguement for each deployment call, then the deployment would not fail i suppose.

Issue: My OOTB Open Deploy java class doesn't seem to take instance variable. I have tried passing "inst", "odDeploymentInst” as task variable to DeployTask in WFM. But it just dont work.
