IE 5.5. client crashes on TST 5.5.2

Has anyone out there had problems with their Templating/Visual Format client installations once you've upgraded your TeamSite server from 5.0 to 5.5?

I had templates galore working just fine in 5.0, but when I upgraded my TeamSite server to 5.5.2 (running on Solaris 8), all the Windows clients are experiencing massive crashes when attempting to create a new data record.

This happens after TeamSite prompts the client to install the latest version of eWebEditPro.

Anyone else have an experience like this?

Hmm. . .

As a follow up, I'm realizing the complete and total crash of IE only happens when I try to load a DCT that has a VisualFormat text area in it.

Does this ring a bell with anyone?

Does VF in TS5.5.2 have the patch that counteracts the Microsoft Security patch discussed in KB article 49345? We had the same behavior with 5.0 until we installed the patch to our VF...

Hi Maureen,

Yeah, that was the cause. Some IE patch disables Ektron's templating. Ya gotta follow the 49345 steps to make things right with the world.
