OD rcvr not connecting on port 20014

Hi,
We have a OD receiver 6.1. This got installed properly and worked well for few weeks. Now we are facing a problem to connect to the server. The OD base fails after maximum attempt to connect to the receiver. Then I restarted the receiver service successfully.
But, I am not able to telnet to port 20014 from the base server. I checked the receiver log file and did not get any help about why the receiver is not connecting. I checked with network guys and there is no firewall between the servers as of now. I also checked the netstat on receiver and the server does not show listening to port 20014.
I have attached few of log files. Appreciate any help to debug the issue.

Env: TS 6.5 sp3 on windows server 2003

Is there a firewall in between ?

Can you ping or traceroute between the 2 servers ?

Sometimes firewalls can be opened in one direction (so the connect goes out but the acknowledgement never comes back).

The logs look fine. Can you log remote desktop on the receiver ? Try that and telnet server 20014 from it. That will confirm if OD is running correctly or not. Are you connecting via IP address or hostname ? Can you verify the hostname resolves to the correct IP ?

There is no firewall between the source and destination as per the network guys. The host name correctly resolves to the IP address.
I am using the IP address to connect to the server. I do not have access to the server. But the person who has told me that the he started the service successfully.

Can you ping the receiver ? traceroute it ?

Have someone on the receiver run the telnet, also see if they can ping the sender.

Well, in that case I assume they are responsible for testing where port 20014 is alive.

How they do that is their problem. Maybe refer them to sysinternals.com with has a bunch of windows tools that will tell you what port 20014 is doing.

If the receiver uses the standard port and netstat on the receiver doesn't show it is listening on port 20014, I guess this means OD service on receiver doesn't start successfully.

If that were the case, I think you'd be able to find information in the OD log files that would make it fairly clear.

There was no problem with the OD. The receiver server has two NIC installed. The admin made an entry of the hostname that I tried in the host file and it solved the problem.
