Pls explain syntax of command in here. iw_home enters the value of iw_home. Does the string after iw_home gets attached to iw_home ? There is no punctuation mark after iwperl.exe and new insert tag is there. How does this work ? It looks like two files "iwperl.exe" and "deploy_content_filelist.ipl" are being executed at the same time. Whats "dev_check" for ? How does that work ? I just got this syntax and could noy understand it thats why Im posting it here. Please explain as much possible.

note : back slash is not appearing in the code. So I have changed it to forward slash.

In this command basically it calls the method dev_check of file deploy_content_filelist.ipl, that is located at //iw_home/httpd/iw-bin/magazine path.

While calling an ipl file you have to call it from perl compiler "iwperl.exe" and it is located at //iw_home/iw-perl/bin path.

_INSERT_($iw_home) is actually insert the iw_home existing path to the string.
__INSERT__(string); directives to insert text into a job specification
programatically.

To be a bit more accurate - On Windows it is necessary to provide both the scripting engine and the script in the <command> element. On Unix, only the path to the script is necessary assuming that the sh-bang line is correct and the script is marked as executable.

Of note in the example code that was originally posted - the context is given as an externaltask - but the script is being called from IWHOME/httpd/iw-bin/ - which is the location for CGI and cgitask scripts - not externaltask scripts - so if the command is written in one manner and called in the other manner - it may not work.
