IE 8 and TeamSite
abiondo
Has anyone tested IE 8 with TeamSite. Can you tell me if it works or if there are issues? Our desktop group is discussing the possibility of rolling out IE 8.
thanks,
Anthony

Highly unlikely.
1st you need to tell us what version of TS you are running. IE8 is so new that (maybe) the latest version of TS supports it.
Tread carefully with following the new browsers. There are a lot of issues with browdser support for normal websites, an app like TS needs a lot of regression testing and that takes a lot of time. I remember a number of issues for IE7 when it was released.
There is (was) a compatibility matrix on the IWOV support site. Where it is with Autonomy is another question, you can see if you can find it.

I've tested IE 8 out with our systems and everything still works okay so far. I would suggest you make sure to test it out in your environment as you may have custom code or use some other functionality that we don't use here. We've just finally released IE 7 to our users so we're moving slowly on the browser front for internals, but we've tested all our external sites with all current versions of browsers.

Sorry we are running TS 6.7.2

The 6.7.2 release notes say IE 7.0 (as well as Mozilla 2.X, not 3)
There is a SP coming out in May, IIRC, they may have IE8 support for it.
Or go ahead & install and debug it for us. We greatly appreciate it.

There are no current TS releases that officially support IE8. TS 6.7.2 SP1, which just released last week, supports IE6, IE7, FF2 and FF3. FF2 support will go away in the next major release (aka 7.0) and there is still an open question about IE6 and/or IE8.
As nipper said earlier, it's difficult to maintain compatibility for a "normal" website and double-tough for web applications like ContentCenter. IE8 is supposed to have a compatibility mode to make the browser behave as IE7, so that should work if Microsoft did a good job making it truly compatibly (has not been officially tested).
Corporate adoption of browsers tends to lag initial releases. Like most vendors, we look at the market share of various browsers to see which things to support. As most of you will appreciate, supporting too many browsers has issues: 1) cost 2) lower quality since tradeoffs in design are made to support least common denominator or lots of special case code.
