Javascript and href attribute

I have an image on my page that once clicked calls a video flash file that is shown in a shadow window.
If I place the hard coded code below the video works

a href="javascript&colon;dijit.byId('video_dialog1').show();hideBox()" onmouseout="MM_swapImgRestore()" onmouseover="MM_swapImage('video1','','/assets/erx/images/erx/watch_btn_hover.gif',2)">

I have attempted to template this however with the following code the href dos not call the javascript it treats this a a relative path link.

Compare the generated output.

You may need to escape the inner set of double quotes:

xsl:value-of select=\"video_list\"/>'

Thanks for the suggestion, I have tried to escape the quotes on the include and I am still getting the same error.

I think that the issue is with the with the first xsl:text call instead of getting href=javascript&colon;dijit.byId('video_dialog1').show();hideBox() I am getting
href=http://fullservername.com/full/current/path/javascript&colon;dijit.byId('video_dialog1').show();hideBox()

if I have tried to remove the initial double quote, when the page rneders I get a javascript error about "missing a ; before comand"

It helps if you use the correct formatting for your posts so that people can read it - use Preview to verify before you actually submit your post.

That being said - your attempt at coding the XSL looks like a mess - I believe you want something like:[html]

javascript&colon;dijit.byId('video_dialog1').show();hideBox()

MM_swapImage('', '', '/assets/erx/images/erx/watch_btn_hover.gif', 2)

watch video

[/html]The above is untested / unverified - but I think it's a lot closer to being syntactically correct than what you posted.
