Automation Error Win2003

I have written an app that uses imanage.dll to login and it works fine in dev env (VB 6 on XP SP2).
I have run it on win2000 servers fine, but the same exe wont run on windows 2003 server (32 bit).

I have registered the imanage dll but still get

Error: Automation error
Library not registered. in module: WS_Login()

I dont think its the code as it works on many PCs (winXP and win2k svr).
I have searched the forum and there are a few other similar posts - just wondering if the imanage COM object works on win2003 server?

I don't know off hand, but I don't see why not as it's not uncommon to have WorkSite Web installed on WIN2003 Server. One way to find out is to check whether DeskSite/FileSite/WorkSite Web is supported on the same OS, as each of those clients uses imanage.dll.

You may also want to check that the imanage.dll is indeed registered by checking the presence of its CLSID in the regsitry of the machine.

I now have a work around to this issue.

I installed VB on the win2003 server after it my imanage.dll + VB code kept failing, and it turned out to be the object loop:-

for in
...
where iman_obj is any imanage.dll object (e.g. Imanage.ImanUsers)

I have been using imanage.dll COM for many years and this was a first. The same object loop code DOES work on a win2000 server, just not on Win2003!

I changed all instances of the code to:

for i = 1 to iman_obj_collection.Count
set iman_obj = iman_obj_collection.ItemByIndex(i)
...

And the error disappeared!!

Note I did check the CLSID and all was well (and all the VB project references were fine too).

Any Ideas??

Something happened to my post...

The errant code was supposed to be :

for each iman_obj in iman_obj_collection ' This gives automation error on Win 2003!
......

for i = 1 to iman_obj_collection.Count ' this works on Win 2003
set iman_obj = iman_obj_collection.ItemByIndex(i)
....
