WSDL set up and call

Hi,

My basic requirement is to check if i could call a WSDL from my team site server using workflow modeler or not? As an input i have been provided a WSDL by an external team which i need to call.

Queries:
- How to create a client out of the WSDL? (Only info provided is they are using jaxp)
- What needs to be installed and where over TS server to make the setup ready?

For testing purpose, I am on TS 6.7.2 in Windows 2003 with IIS installed.

Hi Kaalra,

First of all, you are required to create a Client class which further call WSDL.
Secondly, you are reuired to create an external class which will call the Client class. Here is a note: create the external class in Java as in the newer version of TS and WFM, Java is recommended and somewhere necessary.

For working on these, you are required to install JDK 1.5 or above on your machine and also the Java development tool - Eclipse 5.1 will be helpfull in creating the Java Classes.
Once you complete the installation then, provide the related Jar files to the application.

Essentially you are suggesting to write a java class passed as a command within one of the workflow tasks, which internally call WSDL client?

Also, please update as where do i need to put the related Jar files on the TeamSite Server.

Answers below:

Answer: you can use your Java IDE to create the web service client classes. Eclipse provides a very easy way of doing this. It'll create all of those classes for you based on your WSDL.

- What needs to be installed and where over TS server to make the setup ready?
Answer: I am assuming you want to execute this web service and do something from / within your workflow. You can have an URL task that points to some JSP/Servlet that wraps a call to your web service client class. If you go that route, all of your client classes + JSP / Servlet code will be placed under the customer_src (UITK). There are other ways to make this call without creating a JSP / Servlet but I think that'll be probably the easiest / cleanest way of doing it. Again it will depend on your requirements.
