Worksite Web 8.2 and cookies

Hi,

I'm trying to access the database (using IE 7.0); everything is fine when accessing with the following example "http://[IP Address]/worksite" but when using this example "http://[Server Name]/worksite" it does not work.

I am instead redirected to the "check browser configuration" web page where it says that I have to check if my cookies are enabled (which is the case).

Does you server name have an odd character, like an underscore? Last week a customer in Tech Support Services had the exact same problem, and it was because their web server name contained an underscore. Apparently there is a list of illegal characters in DNS. IE follows DNS rules and drops cookies when it encounters illegal characters. Instead of renaming the server, the customer just created a DNS entry for the server and all worked.

Hi Dabird.

It is actually the case, the server name has an underscore.
We have made a dedicated DNS entry for this server and everything is working fine now.
