Logout Event

Hi,

I am using Interwoven TeamSite 6.7.1 Service Pack 1.
I want to delete some log files on the Logout event.

When a user access Teamsite, some log files get created by his name. I want to get these log files deleted once the session expires/user logs out from Teamsite.

Is there any such event on which i can delete the log files.

As per my knowledge in default configuration Teamsite do not log files with the user's name while accessing. All the events logged regarding a user in access.log file.
There might be some configuration in

iw.cfg

file for logging each user.

I think you do not required logging file with user's name while s/he is accessing. Because you want to delete log file on log out event. So it means no need to create this file.
What i mean to say that there might be some configuration in

iw.cfg

file or

FieldMapping.xml

file to create user's named log file. So just need to edit these file (not exact idea). If you will attach

iw.cfg

then it would be helpful to find out the pointer.

What is the log file created by the user's name?
Where is it located?

My guess - this is a log file resulting from some form of customization - and you should take care of cleaning up the log files in the same customization as opposed to trying to handle it on logout (many / most users never logout of TS - they just close the browser window when they're done)

As Ghoti suggested:

this is a log file resulting from some form of customization - and you should take care of cleaning up the log files in the same customization.

You should find out that customization and its process that how it is functioning then try to implement your requirement. There are various ways of logging information like logger API, log4j etc. I guess there might be log4j used for logging user's info.

One thing more i suggest that

httpd

folder is not a right place for log files. TS highly recommend to do not alter

httpd

folder directly that might be create problem with TS.

What is the purpose of this log file - such that you need to have the user's name embedded in the file name and want to delete it only when the user's session expires (either forcibly or otherwise)?

If the log file is truly temporary - store it in IWHOME/tmp
If the log file contains information that you want for tracking purposes or potential debugging of issues over a longer period of time - use a single log file and use either log4j (if coding your customization in Java) or Log::Log4perl (if coding your customization in Perl) - read the docs on whichever one you use to make sure you use it efficiently and effectively - you'll be able to distinguish the user information within the log entries then and not by creating a separate log for each individual (though I suppose you could do that too - but I'm not sure why you want to delete them after they've logged out)

TS Session management is completely shielded from the user. AFAIK there is no User-exposed API to directly create Session
(indirectly you create one on Log-In), monitor Session Status or terminate the Session. What you want to do simply can not
be done in any supported manner
