Read properties file in preview mode

Hi

I have a page with a component which has an External configured with it. This external code tries to read a .properties file which it is able to read in runtime, but fails to do so in preview mode and fails. I have kept my .properties file in the \httpd\webapps\iw-preview\WEB-INF\classes.

Any ideas

The best practice while creating custom code that should be develop at

iw-home/local/config/lib/content_center/livesite_customer_src

location. It highly recommended to not alter directly in

httpd

location. Then execute

build.bat

build.sh

(as per OS) from command prompt. It will send those files to

httpd

locations where it required. You should keep it in same order as in

runtime

.
So try it in this way.

Thanks for the reply, but we are doing the same thing, still not able to pick up the properties file in preview

i am placing the properties in
TeamSite\local\config\lib\content_center\livesite_customer_src\etc\classes

and then doing a build.

Please let me know if this is wrong.

Hi Mohit,
What is the location of .properties file at runtime?
If you are keeping that file with class files then you should keep it at below location:

TeamSite\local\config\lib\content_center\livesite_customer_src\src\

Check it. Hope this helps.

Have you checked log files? Is there any thing logging?
Elaborate your requirement in detail. And attach the file where you have define or calling resource bundle (.properties) file.

also check the livesite-customer.jar file to see if your props file is present.

also how are you referencing it?

Are you using the getResourceAsStream or the PropertyResourceBundle?
