Using Java to develope Teamsite.

Hi we have recently upgraded to TS 6.7.2 and have Sitepublisher as well. And planning to incorporate Java code instead of perl scripts that we currently have for DD, OD, etc.

I am wondering if there is any doc, or tutorial that is available to go thru before I start the migration. Any help would be appreciated on the guidance of where and how to start on this.
Thanks.

Do u wana migrate your customization of OD, DD etc Or default perl scripts which invokes deployment?

you basically want to apply/migrate the same custom code and configurations but you want to replace any existing perl scripts with java code? i would say if you have enough time, you certainly can do it and this would be good chance to make enhancement and do some cleanup. but i wont suggest you convert everything that is perl to java. a lot of perl and cgi scripts might still be useful and efficient as there are. remember that when you make changes to custom java code, you will have to rebuild teamsite app to integrate your code/changes. that is not always convinient since it means that teamsite will not be available to the users while you are doing rebuild. so for things that might often change, keep you perl and cgi.

see TeamSite customization guide, it tells you what can be customized and how you can integrate your custom code
