get the current url of the page

I am trying to get the current url of the page that I am on in xslt. I need to use that url and append something to the start of the url and use that as an href of an anchor tag. Any help would be great. I have attempted some Javascript but can't seem to get the desired results.

a simple way would be to grab this token: $PAGE_LINK[.] which should give you the link to the current page.
