Dynamic parameters to datasource in workflow

I've written pre-processor code to calculate some values from a file attached to a workflow when it is instantiated. This is working ok, these values can be observed. However, in the New Job Form DCT, I'd like to use some of these values as parameters to a datasource. Is this possible?

Here's what I'm asking rephrased, with the aid of an example. The WFM manual states that you can specify parameters to a datasource in the following way: Datasource:executeComponentataSource Namearam1=value1aram2=value2

However I want value1 and value2 above to be populated by workflow variables which have been previously set by my pre-processor class. Possible? Not supported? Insane?

I think I've cracked this. I'll bare all in case it helps someone else.

FormAPI can be used to build a call to my datasource, which allows for dynamic parameters to be passed, using IWDatasource.executeDatasource(callbackFunction,dsComponentName,dsParams)

I had a bit of trouble when using Global variables, but Job variables did the trick. By setting up CONFIGURABLE job variables, and updating their values in the pre-processor class, the values appear in the DCT. These can then be used to build the parameters to the Datasource in FormAPI.

There. I've lost my WFM virginity. I feel used and dirty.

However I'm still having trouble working out how to get hold of global or job variables which have been set by my pre-processor class. Does anyone have any idea how I can hook into either of these from FormAPI? Or any other techniques I might use?

As per as my findings there is no option to change the global variable dynamically or manipulate it. There is an interface WFMWorkflow but it doesn't have set/get method for Global variable, there are methods for set/get custom variables. And i think this will not fulfill your requirements.

As I understood from your posting you want to change the DataSource Name according to the branch/workarea ??
If i am right then you are on right track and just add a configurable variable for Datasource and configure/customize workflow for each branch/workarea and put value according to the requirement.
Now in formAPI just pass this value on DataSource Name.
