preview fails (when in 'View DCR' mode)

I have pretty strange problem and was wondering if anybody could suggest something here.

The preview works for Authors, however, it fails when accessed via 'Vied DCR' mode.

This is the context to the problem:
Author invokes 'Edit DCR' from within TeamSite
preview is triggered (available within the DCR context) - works fine


This route fails:
Same user/Author and same DCRs are used:
Author invokes 'View DCR' from within TeamSite
preview is triggered (available within the DCR context) - fails!

This is the error message within the popup window:
An error occurred during PT compiling. Please see more details in log files.

This is only thing in iwutild_cmdout.log:

Does that error make sense ?

It is possible that whoever wrote your template, is using some formapi during the preview or generate process. That is a stupid thing to do as it will not be executed in DCR viewing.
