REGEX to get rid of / in /images/imagefile.jpg

Rococi

I want to get rid of the leading "/" in the /images/imagefile.jpg and I wrote this line below into tjhe TPL file. It is not returning anything. Any Ideas anyone.

Thanks,
Rick

$find = "/";
$replace = "Rick";
$image_top= iwpt_dcr_value('dcr.Top Graphic');
$image_topreg = s/^$find/$replace/g;

You need to escape the "/" character since you are using the "/" character as your delimeter for your regex. Try:

s/^\//Rick/g;

or if you don't like using escape:

s#^/#Rick#g;

The weirdest part is that it is not returning anything when I use that regex.

<iw_perl>
$image_top= iwpt_dcr_value('dcr.Top Graphic');
$image_top2 = $image_top;
$image_top2 = s/^\//Rick/g;
iwpt_output("$image_top");
iwpt_output("$image_top2");

</iw_perl>

Use this syntax:

$image_top2 =~ s/^\//Rick/g;

$find = "/";
$replace = "Rick";
$image_top= iwpt_dcr_value('dcr.Top Graphic');
$image_topreg = s/^$find/$replace/g;

As was already pointed out you need to use =~ not just =

Although it might be moot by now, you also need to use the same variable: '$image_top' != '$image_topreg'
