Team,

I am facing issue with some jobs those are randomly failing and works in next cycle.

The job object indicated the job was in progress, but the job was not actually running. It is likely that the dm_agent_exec utility was stopped while the job was in progress.

There is not lock in a_special_app and nothing much logged in Documentum logs.

Can anyone please suggest on urgent basis ?

yeah i tried with this but not much help.

is there any other solution or this is a common bug in 7.3 version as i have seen from many person.

Couldnt tell you. Have you applied the latest patches to your CS? Also, you might want to investigate if the number of jobs you have scheduled to run concurrently are not exceeding the number of threads specified - I believe default is 5. Some jobs (over time) take longer to complete and this in turn impacts whether other jobs can run in window. This is why you shouldnt have custom jobs scheduled to run more frequently than 15 mins - we tend to tell our customer that custom jobs shouldnt be run more than hourly.

Its in the server config object and I was wrong - default value is 3.

so it means we have to increase the value so that all jobs can run in proper manner, am i right ?

No, increasing threads may impact execution individual jobs (make them take longer). First thing to do is to investigate all of your active jobs and see when they run and how long they run. Its ok if you have 3-5 job run/scheduled to run at the same time, but any more than this may mean that some jobs never get triggered in their execution window.
