Sending array in callserver

Hi,
While using a callserver, can I send a Array from my js? Actually, I am sending it but not able to get it in the IPL. The size shows zero in the IPL.
This is what I am using in the IPL

my @arrayurl=$page-> param('arrayURL');

and this is what I am using in the script

var arrayUrl = new Array();
....
params.arrayURL = arrayUrl ;

Can anyone please help me in this...

You mean that whatever I am trying to send in an array, I should put it in a string, perhaps separate it with comma and then get it in the IPL. Am I right?

The Java object is not know to perl. You can pass an array from perl back to Java but you will need to comma delimit the data going to perl.

Yes. The simplest way to do it is to use Array.toString() Method

I am facing a different issue now, The callserver method is getting called onSaveDone, but when a user edits a DCR and without saving clicks on Next. [which indirectly saves], the functionality that i had written to autopopulate the contents of DCR using callserver method works intermittently. While when the user clicks on save and then finish, it works as expected all the time.
Can you please help me... to nail this issue.

callserver is asynchronous - as such you are probably better off associating it with onSaveValid and calling the save() function yourself, rather than onSaveDone.

try using if/else in combination with some flag or counter to decide when to invoke the callServer().

or if possible use pop-up (confirm?) question to invoke or skip the callServer(). usually that is the least desirable option depending on what type of users and it will require educating the users when they say yes or no...

I had thought of it but thats not what is desired.

When I am associated OnSaveValid and then called save(), the process of saving is becoming extremely slow, and when I am calling the save() with onSaveDone the save is initiated redundantly.

I think you need to debug this to determine why it is "becoming extremely slow" via alerts, javascript debugging tools, or some other mechanism that allows you to see what's going on.

Well, yeah. onSaveDone implies that it's being called after having performed the save - so if you call save yourself in an onSaveDone handler of course it's going to be redundant.
