Importing from mediabin with automated resizing

All,

We are using teamsite 6.7.1 on windows 2003 and lates mediabin version .
We successfully import images from mediabin to formpublisher but i'm wondering how i could manage following requirement :

images with a width > 500 pixels should be resized when imported and not if width <= 500 pixels.

taks, primitives interacting with ecm ..: is that possible..?

any insights are welcome

Yes, it is possible. It relies on an undocumented feature of the Image Sizer primitive. Here is an excerpt from the system task run on image insert:

If you change the 512,512 to 500,500 (or any other desired size) and leave everything else intact (!), you can cut and paste this into an XML-exported task and then reimport the task to the server.

What you described is the logic the server uses when producing previews (i.e., the preview image is never larger than the original but it may be smaller).
