Skip the Review process for the user who is the part of reviewers itself

Hi All,

I want to handle the scenario in workflow (made using WFM) that is
If initiator of the workflow is a part of Reviewer list then workflow will not go to Review task, and files directly get submitted skipping the review task.

Reviewers list are retrieved using Datasource.

I thought of writing a SCRIPT variable
like this


if("$IW_USER" == "$IW_DS(Reviewer)" )
{
true;
}
else
{
false;
}

If it returns true then submit directly but this works only if Datasource returning one Reviewer,but this returns list of reviewers.

Can anyone has idea how it can be achieved? OR some other way of achieving this scenario

You can handle it as below process.

Create a custom instantiation form for the workflow
Create a configurable variable as flag (value=true/false)
Handle DataSource variable with FormAPI using IWDatasource object
Loop through DataSource array
Check $IW_USER with array values
if true then set flag=true
Now in workflow put conditional link before Reviewer Task
Check flag value in conditional link (as you mentioned)

Hope in this way you can solve the issue. You can go through WFM user's guide for details of IWDatasource object.

Is there a way to loop through datasource variable array withing Script itself?
and i also want to see that what all list values Datasource variable is returning?
Is there a way to check it?

DataSource variable gives you a list of user on instantiation of a workflow. But when a workflow is instantiated only a selected user will pass to the job. So through out the workflow (Job) life only this user will be there with DataSource variable.
Therefore when you checked with SCRIPT in workflow, it did not return an array. It returns a string value.

So i do not think it can be handled with SCRIPT variable in workflow. Whatever process i defined is implemented in a same like scenario.

if you save your reviewer username as a WF variable, then you certainly can compare it to IW_USER using a script variable and set your flag.
