Issue in connecting to Teamsite from Windows using Java

Hi,

In our application we are connecting to the TeamSite 6.5 using java api IWService,IWAccessService,IWFileSysService and IWWorkFlowService.
TeamSite is hosted on Unix server and we are using the following code to connect to the teamsite.

IWAccessService access = (IWAccessService) IWService.locate("rmi:/"+ machinename +"/"+ serviceName);

machinename : is the server or machine name where TeamSite is hosted.
serviceName : name of the service.

This code works fine when we execute it in Unix (on the same platform where teamsite is there)
but when we try to execute it from Windows, we get connection timed out exception.

Can anyone help us to connect to the TeamSite from windows platform using Java.

There might be some security concern with the network. Please contact your network administrator and make sure that communication between windows and unix platform are compatible.
If possible attach your code that will help in finding the pointer.

Hi,

We have checked all network related settings and problems and we found that everything is Ok.

We had assumed that whenever we call this line

IWAccessService access = (IWAccessService) IWService.locate("rmi:/"+ machinename +"/"+ serviceName);

It looks for remote machine (the machine that is having our TS) but when we call this line it try to connect to local machine where the application is running though the machine names are different, and it thorws 'Connection refused' and 'Connection Time out' exception. and in exception stack trace it shows the local machine IP address that it has tried to connect.

Is it necessary to install TS on local machine to use these API or Is there a way to connect to TS that is hosted on remote machine from windows by Java API.

Can anyone please help us to resolve this issue.

I won't claim to know a lot about RMI or CSSDK for that matter - but shouldn't the URI have two slashes at the beginning? i.e.:

"rmi://" + ...
