Preview only possible if "other" has read/execute permission?
tobias
Hi there,
this is with TS 6.7.2 on Solaris10.
We recently noticed that the regular TS preview returns a 404 error (for both, html pages and images; probably for all file types) as soon as the workarea's unix "other" permissions are lower than 5 [r-x].
As soon as I chmod 775 [rwxrwxr-x] (or higher) the workarea, previews are working again.
Now, we explicitly specified 2770 [rwxrws---] permissions for all branches, workareas and folders, since we do not want users that don't have any permissions to even see these elements, let alone access or modify them.
So, obviously only users with at least read permissions can access a workarea and its content. Therefore I would expect these users to be able to properly preview the files inside the workarea. Now I'm wondering which account the actual preview process is running under, because apparently it is not the account of the current user.
Is there a way to find out? The iwaccess.log only shows the requests and their results, but not which account is issuing a request.
Or, can somebody point out how to get the file preview working without sacrificing the access restrictions on the workarea?
Thanks for any help.
Cheers,
Tobias
