Search IWOV Support for KB Articles using "virtual memory" search key. There are few explaining usage, troubleshooting, etc

Do I need to login to IWOV Support ? I dont have that authorization as yet.
Whats KB Articles ? Is that a short form of something ?
If I dont have access to IWOV support, how to access these articles ?

One basic question, do you knwo what virtual memory is ?

Try google if the answer is no.

KB means Knowledge Base - a series of articles, many support related written by IWOV.

As to IWOV support, yes you need a login. Some of the KBs have been placed in the tech library of DevNet, click on that link and search. You can also ask someone who has support access from your company to have them search support for you.

Hi Guys,
Just wanted to inform you that I had faced this issue yesterday after few hours from reading this thread Smiley Happy

We folllowed the support article instruction and found some of our weblogic process were consuming lot of memory.

Initially we issue "iwstat" command and found error message saying " Teamsite application needs to be shutdown due to low virtual memory".

We killed the java process and we brought back the Teamsite application successfully.

How does weblogic server affect virtual memory ?
We have windows server 2003 and iw-store memory of 200 gb. Weblogic server is not on windows server 2003. It is on unix server at other location.

Your box is low on memory [RAM]. TeamSite keeps track the available memory and shuts down if/when it reaches a specific limit (100MB I think).

If you are running solaris or linux, you can run a tool such as "top" or "prstat" to track down the memory hog.

Example:
top -o size
prstat -a -s rss

If you are running windows, who knows...

You should use proper terminology. I think you mean that your hard drive space has 200 GB on it. As for your physical ram, you should have anywhere between 1-32 GB, or more depending on your machine. As for virtual memory, it is part of your hard drive space that is used as physical ram when your available ram is running out of space. As for the hard drive, it is slower than your physical ram since the machine needs to read/write to the hard drive. You can increase your virtual memory by looking at: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\iwservletd\Parameters and change the jvm option to increase it. But you should make sure that the machine has enough ram to start with according to the install guide.

Sorry for the confusion. Weblogic instance what I mentioned in this thread is specific to the project I am currently working with.
