setVisible issue

hi

we are having problems implementing setVisible(false) when the form initially loads ,it works perfectly if we keep the container(dynamic_comp) as standalone outside the main container(centralcolumn) and replicant(bodyElements) inside it (i am attaching DCT and java script file)

The data (multiselect list) is getting populated correctly ,but the JS is not working

i couldnt find much reference in pdf for this type of DCT structure

please guide if you have idea about this type of issue

As per my understanding your using

dcr-type="iwov"

, while looking

datacapture.cfg

file one thing raise the bar at item "

bodyElements

" within this item you have defined many other item. Which is might be not pass the DTD. Close "

bodyElements

" item before "

replicant

" tag.

You've got at least one problem here - your DCT uses root-container - which is for DCTs defined as being of type "xml" - but none of your containers use the location attribute and none of your items use the pathid attribute - which I believe are required - or at least strongly recommended - you also use a replicant element, which I believe is not part of the "xml" DTD - that should be changed to a container element.
You also have at least one redundant variable defined in your JS code:

...
function DynamicHandler(item){
    var typePath = item.getName();
    var **** = IWDatacapture.getItem(typePath);
    ...
}

You're already passing in the item associated with "typePath" - so why bother declaring another variable ("****" [ahem]) to be the same as what you already have?

Anyway - I suggest you fix your DCT - and then see if you still have issues with your FormAPI code.
