Passing Vairables to Nested Workflow

Can anyone enlighten me on how to pass variables from a parent workflow to a nested child workflow. I'm sure it's rather simple, and I know it can be done. I found in the workflow modeler user guide that it can be done, but no shred of anything explaining how to do it.

From a WFT perspective - nested workflows tended to pass the taskid of the task that spawned the nested job and possibly the jobid of the parent job. From the parent's taskid you should be able to access any job variable in the parent job and/or any task variable in the parent task.

How you would do this within a custom instantiation screen for a nested WFM, I'm not sure - you'd have to start with dumping out all variables (form, environment, etc.) from the nested WFM to a file and see what's available - assuming you can find what you need there (in terms of reference ids) you would then have to figure out the appropriate code to use for utilizing the id to reference what you want (perhaps a callServer script?)
