Underlying OS upgrade for Documentum D2 running on Windows Server 2012

Hello All,

Requirement of upgrading D2 clearly mentioned in guides of D2 install. But underlying OS upgrade is not clear, let's say I have

D2 4.6 with Windows Server 2012, now steps are given for D2 upgrade like in place upgrade, and if we check OS required for latest D2 is Windows Server 2016 or 2019.

How to make sure before upgrade of D2, OS is compatible, and if we have to follow in place upgrade for D2, before that OS to be upgraded so D2 4.6 compatible for Windows Server 2019 ? no doubt D2 we are going to perform upgrade, but before D2 upgrade hope OS upgrade do not create any problem to stop or showstopper for D2 upgrade on same server ?

hope my question is clear to ALL, any help will be appreciated.

Since D2 is web app, I would not go through the trouble of upgrading OS of the app server. Just provision new windows 2019 image deploy the new D2 version and test it out. If it looks fine, decommission the old D2 web app/server.

Okay noted, only doubt of D2 specific Dars to install as a fresh setup, Ok to override as old repository/clone repository having D2 dars of older version..

DAR files are installed against the CS, so this has nothing to do with upgrading D2 app server. There should be explicit instructions on how to upgrade D2.
